Must have Photography Gear for 2016

I have spent hours of research trying to find the BEST storage tools for photographers and so far within 2016's technology come up with must have tools for you!  As a photog myself, the end result of any struggle comes down to storage.  So let me introduce you to my list for 2016!

Starting off on the list is the Kingston Digital USB 3.0 Hi-Speed Media Reader.  This is the most important tool that any photographer should own.  Whether you have a built-in card reader in your computer or laptop, this will destroy it with speeds of up to 5.0Gb/s!  At roughly $20 with Amazon prime, $26 without, you NEED this tool!

Next on the list is VisionTek's pocket SSD USB 3.0 drive.  With reading speeds of up to 450 MB/s and 150MB/s write speeds, that's 20 times any USB 2.0!  Backward compatible from 3.0 to 2.0, and works with Windows XP and higher, Mac OS X 10.4 and higher, Linux. This is the best alternative for fast working and a great price!

Taking a spot on my list for "Must have photography gear for 2016!" is Angelbird's external solid state drive.  There are hundreds of different types of storage devices all looking like they are all the same just a different branding, but this one, this external SSD is insane.  After winning multiple awards and recommendations from people all around the world, from music producers to common people this external is a MUST HAVE.  Writing speeds of 458MB/s and reading speeds of 442 MB/s, extremely durable and tough aluminum design, this drive can not only be directly worked off of, but take some damage!  Starting at around $180 for 256gb, this is very much worth the price.

I can proudly say that this next one is my favorite and most used piece of gear for photography.  Strapsbyelroobs camera wrist straps, neck straps, single straps, double straps, quick release straps, shark jaw bone straps, lanyards.. Every type of strap you could appropriately think to use for your camera setup, they make.  At a very cheap price and high quality trusted strap, this is my all time favorite!

Introducing a little product that I've patiently watched go from a small kickstarter to an official product, say hello to Pico!  Pico is a very small, lightweight brain for your camera.  Basically what this means is that you setup Pico using your smartphone, then it saves your settings in it's memory, and once you attach it to your camera,  it's hands-free shooting.  Pico is designed for any photographer looking to shoot awesome time-lapses whether you're a beginner or professional, anyone can use it.

Lastly on my list is one of the most important things for all your photography gear, a backpack.  Currently my favorite bag for it's carefully engineered design and user configurable compartments.  Personally, one thing that sold me on this bag the most is that I can fit my most important camera gear, and access it quickly while walking from around my shoulder with ease.  Second, the other top half of the bag is enough room to keep clothing, a jacket in case it rains, snacks, drinks, external drives, cleaning supplies, business cards, the list goes on.  If you're currently looking for the perfect camera bag, any bag from Lowepro's Fastpack collection could be it!
